Information for the inter-institutional agreements according to the official requirements of the Erasmus + Program. Letters and numbers are related to the contract template of the European commission.
Clausthal University of Technology has been awarded the Erasmus charter for Higher Education (ECHE) by the European Commission for the period of 2021-2027.The ECHE Charter allows Clausthal University of Technology to fully participate in the EU program for education, training, youth and sport; Erasmus+.

C. Required language skills for incoming students

• Minimum German or English B2.

The majority of our study programs are taught in German. Only our Master degree programs

• Chemistry
• Petroleum Engineering

as well as our International Business Management Semester are taught entirely in English. Therefore, our general language requirement for a student to be accepted at our university is B2 of German but in case students consider to do any course in English, then a B2 level of English is required. Courses offered in English can be found in our directory of lectures

D. Additional requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (only for Master’s Degree students)
• A certified copy of your passport and transcript of records has to be part of the application

E. Calendar

• The sending institutions must inform Clausthal University of Technology of their nominated students before: 15 April for the autumn semester and 15 September for the spring semester. Please send nominations by email.
• The complete application, including all required documents, must reach the receiving institution by: 15 May for the autumn semester and 15 October for the spring semester.
• The receiving institution will send its decision within 8 weeks after the deadline.
• A Transcript of Records will be issued by the receiving institution no later than 5 weeks after the assessment period has finished at the receiving HEI. The student must order the transcript at the examination office by email.
• Termination of the agreement
• In the event of unilateral termination, a notice of at least one academic year should be given. This means that a unilateral decision to discontinue the exchanges notified to the other party by 1 September 20XX will only take effect as of 1 September 20XX+1. Neither the European Commission nor the National Agencies can be held responsible in case of a conflict.

F. Information

1. Grading system: All transcripts of records will show grade distribution, grade and ECTS credits.
2. Visa: The sending and receiving institutions will provide assistance, when required, in securing visas for incoming and outbound mobile participants, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
3. Insurance: The sending and receiving institutions will provide assistance in obtaining insurance for incoming and outbound mobile participants, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
4. Housing: The receiving institution will guide incoming mobile participants in finding accommodation according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
