Study Buddy

You are coming within the framework of an exchange program to TU Clausthal? Then you would certainly like…

… to have a lot of information about the University, the city etc.,
… to be assisted with your arrival,
… to receive answers to your questions preferably by an “insider”,
… to meet fellow students from Clausthal as quickly as possible,
… to improve your German skills.

If one or more of these points apply to you, then the Study Buddy program is the right choice for you.  

How do I register?
Fill out the form (see downloads) to register and send it via e-mail to us. As soon as we receive your information, we will look for a suitable Buddy for you. This can take some time; however, the IZC will contact you as soon as a partner has been found.  

What are the next steps?
Before your arrival in Clausthal, you will already be able to contact your Buddy so that all questions, such as organizing your travel plans and acquiring living accommodation, can be discussed and explained earlier to your arrival. 

When you then arrive in Clausthal, it may be possible that your Buddy picks you up from the bus stop and guides you through your first steps. Ideally, in preparation for your arrival, your Buddy may also be able to acquire your lease agreement and key for your room. Furthermore, you will personally get to know one another better by taking a walk through the Clausthal campus and the town. Afterwards, your Buddy will be there to advise and assist you, for example with registering at the official registration office, the immigration office and the IZC, opening a bank account, and obtaining a mobile phone contract.  

The form and frequency of the meeting depends on your needs and commitment of the individual Buddies themselves, since the program is designed to last only as long as the individual partners’ are interested.
