Language Skills

The majority of our study programs are taught in German. We have, however, some study programs which are taught partly in English. Therefore, it is essential that students have sufficient language skills at the beginning of the semester. We recommend a language level of at least B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in order to take part in both the German as well as the English study programs.

Should you not have the appropriate level of language skills at the time of application, it is recommended to use the time leading up to the beginning of your academic exchange at TU Clausthal to improve your language skills.

The Language Center of TU Clausthal offers, partly in collaboration with our partner universities, German intensive courses. During the semester, students may also attend German language courses to strengthen their German language skills. Moreover, the Language Center offers courses in numerous other languages.
